HS Biopharmaceuticals Inc. is an American raw material supplier specializing in joint-health and connective-tissue ingredients. We have been in continuous operation since 2001, pioneering chondroitin sulfate manufacturing as one of the first producers to limit residual sulfate and chloride to United States Pharmacopoeia (USP) requirements.
Our US headquarters in Carlsbad, California coordinates sales, technical support, regulatory documentation, and warehousing. Our primary manufacturing facility in Jiaxing, China — with a second production site in Fujian — handles production, quality assurance, and research and development.

Chondroitin Sulfate
Sodium and calcium salts across multiple grades and animal origins: bovine, porcine, marine, and chicken.
Glucosamine

Our primary manufacturing facility has operated under GMP since 2010 and features a 100,000-class dust-free cleanroom — upgraded from 300,000-class in 2011 — across production of chondroitin sulfate, glucosamine, collagen, shark cartilage, hyaluronic acid, and related actives. A second production site opened in Fujian in 2021.
Our in-house analytical laboratory is equipped with HPLC, GC, IR spectrometry, CPC titrators, microbiological incubators, and a stability chamber. Our dedicated R&D center — staffed by specialists in molecular biology, cell biology, and medicine — drives our branded ingredient pipeline and pioneered the detection methods now used across our industry.

Since achieving ISO certification in 2005, we have maintained an unbroken record of quality and innovation. We identified a critical 5% variance between E-HPLC (enzyme-labeled high-performance liquid chromatography) and CPC (potentiometric titration) in chondroitin sulfate sodium analysis and pioneered its application.
Additionally, HS was the first to control sulfate and chloride levels during manufacturing to meet U.S. Pharmacopoeia standards, ensuring our chondroitin sulfate sodium fully complies with all relevant USP requirements.
